Kobo's Commission Rate:
It's fun to start directly from this topic, friends. You'll see when you read it :)
When selling books on Kobo, if you sell 3 dollars or more, it gives you a commission rate of 70%. If you choose a price below 3 dollars, this time your commission rate is calculated as 45%. It shows how much you will earn according to the price you entered on the price calculation screen. According to the table that emerged when the price was changed, our observation was in this direction.
For this reason, you need to price your books well. Since the dollar is known to be high, 3 dollars is equivalent to 25 Turkish liras as of now. If you are going to sell a book in a foreign language, 3 units of money may not be much for foreigners, but if we consider our country, it will stand out as a very high amount. I can't say a content that our people can say that this book deserves this money, but I can say a method. If possible, I recommend that you sell several series of your books together or keep the content quite wide. For example, you can prepare 3 books together or in a way that you can advertise your book normally, that is, I throw it in the physical environment, it is around 300 pages. I said around 300 pages because normally there is no such thing as the number of pages in an e-book. Or do whatever you want :)
Kobo's Large Distribution Network:
Below you can see Kobo's worldwide distribution network as of now. At distribution partners in these countries, your books will be available for sale with a click, so to speak. Otherwise, imagine that you are installing separately for each of them. What a waste of time that would be. Your books will be offered to Turks living in these countries and to those who want to learn Turkish in these countries. If you are presenting your works in English, this will be more useful. Or, when the book, which is now in beta, sells a lot, the Kobo team translates that work into any language you want at reasonable prices. In this way, imagine that you market your work in the local language of each country by writing only in Turkish. I think it's an incredible opportunity.
And it's also worth mentioning. These sites are among the best sites that come to mind when it comes to books in the countries where they are located. For example, they are currently working with D&R and İdefix in Turkey.
They say that they distribute to more than 200 countries at once. Of course they are right. If you are wondering how exactly they do this, you will also inform us if you research and write them in the comments below. Thanks in advance...
